Name: Mars & Venus
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Region: La Mancha
Country: Spain
Year: 2013
Price: $10 normally. On sale for $5.95
Vintage Cellar Review: Citrus
and gooseberry aromas are mild but typical of the variety. A basic citrus
palate delivers modest tangerine and nectarine flavors which lead to a mild,
pithy finish showing light citric notes.
Macy's Review: This is, to my knowledge, the first Sauvignon Blanc I have ever tasted. It had a floral hint to the nose. I couldn't quite specifically pick out individual flavors of this wine. I did enjoy the wine, and I did purchase a bottle. While at the tasting I did not try any foods with it, later at home I did eat it with a salad. The salad had a vinaigrette dressing. It was a bad pairing, because the wine overpowered the taste of the salad.
