Vintage Cellar Review: Shows a certain rustic simplicity now, with youthfully
jammy flavors of blackberries, cherries and currants, sprinkled with cocoa and
pepper and wrapped into dusty tannins.
Macy's Review: To my knowledge, this is the first petite sirah I have ever tasted. I tasted this wine in February. My notes say, "Does not have a strong flavor. While there is nothing unpleasant about the wine, it is very bland and there is nothing to it." After watching this week's Wine Library TV episode on petite sirah and reading the chapter on Drink This Now I am surprised that this was my reaction to the Crane Lake petite sirah. I want to taste this wine again to see if I still think it is bland knowing that it should be a bold red.
